Quality scheme
Introduction
In order to continuously improve service quality, 1WR has developed a
quality scheme. Clients are encouraged to participate proactively in
this. Before quality controls, 1WR puts emphasis on training. Training is provided through a number of market research and interview related tutorials.
Quality controls are performed by an independent team to be effective.
Training
Tutorials are developed with help of specialists and are continuously
improved. Tutorials are circulated among co-ordinators, supervisors and
interviewers as and when appropriate. They include: 1. Co-ordination training - team
development case studies
1.1. Research design
1.2. Basis and reliability of surveys
1.3. Main market research problems
1.4. Main market research tools
1.5. Project templates

Controls
Controls are performed by an independent team to be effective. 1WR
upfront indicates that these are conducted to supervisors and
fieldworkers.Quality scheme and its controls concern:
1. Coordination quality:
1.1. Team development
1.2. Contingency planning
1.3. Respect of planning
1.4. Reporting/presentation verifications
2. Fieldwork supervision quality
2.1. Questionnaire piloting
2.2. Translation verifications
2.3. Regular debriefs on operations
2.4. Respect of planning
3. Interview quality: each interviewer's work is checked by separate team(s) for:
3.1. Door to door interviewing
3.2. Central location interviewing
3.3. Telephone interviewing
3.4. Qualitative and observational studies, including recruitment of qualitative research
Although supervision monitors interviews, independent "a posteriori" phone, mail or visit controls are planned by co-ordination, depending on projects between 5 to 15% of interviews. Phone means are used when possible. If not mail/email is used, and home visits when needed.
Controls are performed randomly for each interviewer/fieldworker. Further controls are recommended when doubts or inaccurate information is gathered. In case of non respect of quality fieldwork/supervision, 1WR reconducts necessary fieldwork and terminates relations with concerned interviewer/fieldworker.
